Kashmir shuts ahead of PM Modi’s Visit

A complete shutdown is being observed in Kashmir Valley on Sunday against the visit of Indian prime minister Narender Modi for inauguration of Asia’s largest 9km Tunnel Chenani NAshari tunnel.

All shops, schools, petrol pumps and offices remain closed.

Authorities have also imposed restrictions in Old City of Srinagar.

The shutdown call is given by the joint Hurriyat leadership of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik.
