A broken floor view of Jamia masjid
The Paramilitary troopers after barging inside the Grand Mosque of Islamabad (Anantnag) in Southern Kashmir arrested at least 20 boys, eye witnesses said.
Clashes had gripped the main town of islamabad after Friday prayers in the Jamia Masjid. Hundreds of youth came out in protest from Jamia Masjid shouting slogans in favour of Zakir Moosa.
The people tried to march towards Lal chowk which is not more than 10 minutes away from the Masjid, however the troopers deployed used tear smoke shells to disperse the protesters after which heavy clashes erupted.

The Police entered the Jamia Masjid around 4: 15 to nab the youngsters hiding inside the Masjid. The troopers broke the rooftop of the masjid to arrest the boys. During the arrest, one boy identified as Vikas age 17 (residence withheld) was allegedly thrown off the roof to the first floor of the Masjid. “Even after he was bleeding, he was not taken to the hospital but arrested and taken away” said an eyewitness.
Blood marks were pretty much visible on the flour of the first floor.”More than 20 boys were arrested from the Masjiod and whisked away by Police” said a neighbour whose house is next to Jamia Masjid.
The locals meanwhile gathered in large numbers in side the central mosque condemning what had been done.
