Encounter underway in Kashmir’s Pulwama,one militant killed A Militant was killed by cops in Awantipora village of Pulwama District in south Kashmir late Wednesday night. The cops have launched a cordon and search operation in Padgampora area of Pulwama district as they suspect two- three more militants may be hiding in the area.
The encounter was undertaken by the Army and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police after specific intelligence about the presence of militants in the area was received. A senior police officer said, “”Two heavily armed militants are believed to be trapped in a house. Troops of 130 Battalion CRPF, 55 Rashtriya Rifles and SOG Pulwama are involved in the operations.
